Follower Update Schedule Changes

Follower Update Schedule Changes published on No Comments on Follower Update Schedule Changes

Hello readers! This is a quick update to let you know about some changes to Follower’s update schedule.

For the past few months, I’ve been dealing on and off with some wrist pain in my drawing hand that’s made completing pages on time pretty difficult. You have probably noticed this in the number of delayed and missed updates for the comic. I’ve attempted to continue drawing despite this issue but it’s becoming clear that I need to get better at giving my wrist a break, and the best way I can see to do that is to alter our update schedule a bit.

For the next 3-6 months, depending on how manageable my wrist pain is, Messenger/Follower will update on a sporadic schedule. I am undecided yet whether this means bi-weekly updates instead of weekly ones, or whether it’ll be a batch of new pages each month. Regardless, there will still be new pages – just fewer of them, temporarily.

This isn’t a change I’m making lightly, but for me it’s become a question of getting some comics done versus none at all. I’m planning to slowly work my way back up to a weekly schedule over time, and will come back better and stronger for it.

Thanks for your continued readership and support!

November Break & Call for Guest Posts

November Break & Call for Guest Posts published on No Comments on November Break & Call for Guest Posts

Follower will be taking a break for the month of November, returning to its normal schedule on December 6. Patreon posts will continue as usual and supporters will still get access to early pages and regular rewards. I am planning to use this time to finish the artwork for chapter 5, and work together with Delade on writing the script for the next chapter. I’m also hoping this will also afford me some time to catch up properly on Messenger and other projects before the end of 2017.

During the break, I’d love to put up some guest posts – including fan art, fiction, or whatever else you can come up with, as long as it’s Follower-related! Please email it to bug [at] messenger-comic.com. Don’t forget to let me know what name you’d like to be credited with, and a link to your website if you have one.

Summer Schedule Madness

Summer Schedule Madness published on No Comments on Summer Schedule Madness

It’s been sort of an unpredictable summer for us so far, so I thought it would be time for a minor schedule update. Follower is postponed-ish for this week, as I’m currently going between some extra freelance work and a bunch of comics-related, but not Follower comics-related projects with upcoming deadlines. Thankfully, all of that will be out of the way within the next few weeks. Follower will return on its regular day next week, and I’m planning to make up the missing page as soon as possible.

That said, Patreon backers will get the first look at new Follower material as it’s made. Our Patreon has converted to immediate charge, so you can pay immediately and gain access to our back catalog of rewards like wallpapers and other extras. $1 goes a long way to helping us keep making comics and is always appreciated if you like what we do!

Starting in August, I’m also going to be posting weekly #ThrowbackThursday wallpapers featuring Chios and Messenger characters. These wallpapers were originally PayPal donation rewards circa 2010, and there are at least a few that I know no one downloaded at the time, so that’s a bonus! I’ve already queued these up, and they run from the first week of August to the first week of November, and unlike regular monthly wallpapers, these will be available to all patrons pledging at least $1!

August is always a tight month for us because web hosting for the year is due, so if you enjoy Follower, Messenger, or our other comics, please consider chipping in via Patreon or Ko-Fi, or purchasing something from our shop.
