Patreon First Milestone Reward – for everyone!

Patreon First Milestone Reward – for everyone! published on No Comments on Patreon First Milestone Reward – for everyone!

The Messenger & Follower Patreon is doing stupendously well so far! In a little over a month, we’ve managed to break through three milestone goals, which will enable me to do more with the comics! As a reward for accomplishing the first goal, I’ve created a brand new Chio-themed wallpaper that’s available for everyone, not just patrons! Thanks so much to everyone who’s supported us, whether it’s by supporting our Patreon, sharing a link to our comics with friends, or simply reading the comic each week. It really means a lot. Please feel free to download this wallpaper, and enjoy some desktop Chios!

If you want to help support Messenger and Follower, but are unable to back our Patreon campaign, that’s ok! There are still some other ways you can help support the comics for free:

  • Click the little “Follow” button on the top of our Patreon page to follow our updates. Apparently this also helps our rankings on Patreon and boosts our posts and updates a little higher in the list, so people are more likely to see them!
  • Retweet our comic updates and links on Twitter! (Or reblog our updates on Tumblr!)
  • Read Follower using Comic Chameleon, a free iOS app!
  • Or just share the comic with your friends!

As always, we appreciate your continued readership, and look forward to creating more new stuff for you to enjoy. Thank you!

Follower is now on Patreon!

Messenger & Follower are now on Patreon! That’s right, Follower (and Messenger!) are now on Patreon! After a lot of thinking, I decided it was time to try and find a way to be able to devote more time to making comics, and if I can offset my time spent at work by making the comics self-supporting endeavors, then that might be more viable. For more information, check out this special message from Eldora:

So what’s Patreon? If you’re familiar with Kickstarter or crowdfunding in general, it’s kind of like that – except on a rolling basis instead of one big funding project for one goal. Patreon enables you to pledge a monthly amount of your choosing towards the goal, which in my case, is producing Messenger and Follower. This way, I can essentially be paid for making comics, and supporters will receive rewards for their help! Additionally, there are a bunch of milestone goals which will help unlock new content for everyone to see – not just patrons – as I’m able to spend more time making comics.

There are rewards available for as little as $1 a month, like viewing an exclusive content stream just for backers, a new wallpaper every month, and more!

News from the Follower side

News from the Follower side published on No Comments on News from the Follower side

It’s been a while since we’ve made a proper news post here, so let’s fix that. Just a few minor items to accompany the update this week:

  • Follower will now be updating with larger page images! I am not sure why I haven’t been doing this all along, but since we’re not terribly far into the comic, I’m planning to update the previous pages with larger images, and continue posting pages at the bigger size in the future for the enjoyment of your eyeballs.
  • If you use Comic Rocket (and you should, because it’s awesome), you can now add Follower to your lists! Shiny new banner image coming soon.
  • The first print issue is coming along nicely. I’ve made a ton of progress in the past week or so, and am planning to send it off for print in the next couple of weeks. I’m not happy about taking so long getting it done, but I’d much rather create a book I can take pride in than just rush and get it done, and taking the extra time has certainly been worth it. I can’t wait to see how most of these pages will look in print.
  • Delade has been working along on scripts, and we’ve got the fourth chapter nearly completed. Which probably won’t be available until uh. Sometime next year. Point is, we have a story to tell and we’re planning it to death. So send Delade a word of encouragement so we can get the thing roughed out. (Fun fact: the entire story is divided into about three major arcs, the first of which is five chapters long.)

That’s all I’ve got for now, so thanks for reading and stop by next week for more! If you can’t wait, there’s more stories from the same universe over on Messenger. Just with more watercolor.

I'm decreasing my reliance on social media. Sign up for comic emails!
